The company after seeing strong growth in the European market has decided to expand their operations in the United States. They’ve launched a new factory in Houston, TX and are now undertaking major commercial projects in the U.S. These include student housing, healthcare, multifamily and hospitality projects across the country.&nbsp;



As part of their expansion to the United States, Bathsystem&nbsp;decided to implement Offsight’s technology to manage their production, quality, and project delivery and to ensure their investment was a success.



&nbsp;In this case study we discuss how Bathsystem&nbsp;set up Offsight’s software at production launch, and built robust, scalable workflows to track their production of hundreds of bathpods in real time. We review how all quality control, sign-offs and verification can be recorded, monitored and centralized in Offsight for conformance and to track rework. We outline how Offsight’s collaborative and reporting capabilities enable Bathsystem&nbsp;to coordinate with other project stakeholders on major commercial projects, where the on-time manufacturing and delivery of their bathpods and prefabricated products can be crucial to meeting the overall project schedule.&nbsp;

Setting Up Offsight for Production Lanch



By leveraging Offsight’s Management Tool as part of the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.offsight.com/production" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Production &amp; Quality Tracking</a>&nbsp;feature set, Bathsystem&nbsp;began defining their production workflows for launch. Through the Management Tool each stage of the production process, including work areas or assembly zones,were defined and a specific workflow for each type of prefabricated bathroom was created. At each stage of the process tasks such as quality checklists or instructions to review shop drawings for assembly were identified and linked to the specific product or type of prefabricated bathroom and its specific stage in assembly.&nbsp;

While building these workflows in Offsight, Bathsystem&nbsp;was also able to account for variability in their planned production process. For example, their production process involved certain sub-assemblies which needed to be completed prior to the final product moving on to the next stage and in other cases multiple processes could happen in parallel and tracking was necessary across both of these processes. Within Offsight the team was able to define unique workflows for these use cases and set constraints whereby these sub-assembly workflows or parallel process workflows had to complete before the product could proceed to the next stage.&nbsp;



Once these workflows were defined and set up across all types of prefabricated bathrooms and designs, launching the app to the shop floor was seamless and real time data and production progress tracking could be controlled through&nbsp;<a href="https://apps.apple.com/us/app/offsight/id1522830069" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Offsight’s mobile app.&nbsp;</a>







Tracking Quality, Conformance and Rework from the Shop Floor

Once live, operators and managers were able to leverage Offsight directly from the shop floor. Unique QR codes for each bathpod were created and linked in Offsight. Operators or quality inspectors on the shop floor could scan QR codes at stations and by bathpod to immediately identify the specific product, its stage of assembly and access dynamic quality and conformance checklists in their Offsight tablet apps.

Once operators and quality inspectors access their dynamic quality checklists they can easily identify assembly issues and errors or complete sign-offs before products ship. Offsight’s Workflow Automation dashboard allows managers to set IF-THEN logic which makes completing these checklists easier and saves overall time for assembly and production activity. All issues that are identified can be tracked in Offsight’s Alerts Dashboard and resolved to track rework and repairs and ensure that all issues are addressed before Bathsystem prefabricated bathrooms ship. 







Tracking Project Progress &amp; Collaborating With Stakeholders



As they began to expand their business in the United States, it was crucial for Bathsystem to also ensure that they grow and maintain their customers’ trust. A crucial part of that is being able to provide controlled visibility and real time communication with their customers and stakeholders during active projects. By leveraging Offsight’s <a href="https://www.offsight.com/reporting-auditing" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Reporting &amp; Auditing</a> feature set along with Offsight’s <a href="https://www.offsight.com/real-time-analytics" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">analytics capabilities</a> Bathsystem was able to achieve that goal.

Bathsystem Leverages Offsight to Scale Bathpod Production In the US

By leveraging Offsight’s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.offsight.com/forecasting-estimating" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">pre production capabilities</a>, Valley can begin planning an entire project from design through prefabrication and shipment. Valley leverages Offsight’s Planning Dashboard to identify key stages in their project lifecycle including design, machine cutting, assembly and shipment. They assign labor resources to each phase or step in the process and plan out both the fabrication of steel components and the final assembly of their steel panels. Valley then generates a robust prefab project plan by leveraging Offsight’s algorithms for forecasting and estimating. The forecasted start and end dates of the design process, the fabrication of all components that feed into a finished product and the assembly of the finished panels themselves are all displayed in a dynamic Gantt chart and made available to production and project teams for reference once the project starts.

Offsight’s quality capabilities allow&nbsp;Fullerton&nbsp;Building Systems to manage sign-offs and visual inspection at various stages of the production process. If issues are discovered for specific panels during prefabrication, these issues can be marked up in a checklist and linked to the specific product and stage, or process where the error occurred. With Offsight’s Alerts Dashboard, operations managers and quality personnel can live track all open issues. Once rework or repairs are performed to close these issues, their status can be marked as Completed in Offsight’s mobile app to remove them from the active alerts. In this manner, managers can ensure that all active issues are resolved before shipment.
